Região Nordeste
Ocupando área de 1.561.177,8 km2, o que corresponde a 18,26% da área total do país. A maior parte de seu território é formada por extenso planalto, antigo e aplainado pela erosão. Em função das diferentes características físicas que apresenta, a região Nordeste encontra-se dividida em quatro sub-regiões: Zona da Mata, Agreste, Sertão e o Polígono das Secas.
